4. What is your favorite day of the week?
I have always liked Tuesdays- don't know why!

5. Did you graduate high school from the town you grew up in?
NO!! I grew up in Southern California and graduated from a high school in Wyoming with a class of 24!!

So what are you answers?? Hoo are you??

Chocolate Chip Cookies / Pizzookies!!!

I spent years trying to find a Chocolate Chip cookie recipe that worked here in the Wyoming desert:) Finally one of friends posted a recipe on their blog (click here) and I fell in love with it!!

Now I have also found another go-to site for complete yumminess Our Best Bites they are  coming our their first cookbook this Spring and I love all their recipes I've tried! Well, I combined my friends cookie recipe and best bites ingenious Pizzookie Cookie idea and now a trip to heaven is available in 20 minutes!! Perfect for a late night snack (after the kids are in bed), a quick afternoon pick me up (when the kids are napping)- seeing a trend here?? :)

Chocolate Chip Cookies
(can be halved)
The melt in your mouth kind!

3 cups shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 cups brown sugar
3 tsp. vanilla
6 eggs
3 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking soda
7 1/2 cups flour
2 pkgs. chocolate chips

Cream shortening, sugars, vanilla and eggs. Add salt and baking soda. Gradually add flour. Beat until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
Now here is where you have a choice- you can drop these puppies onto a cookie sheet and bake for 8- 10 minutes at 375 degrees or....

You can get out some ramekins (I use 6 oz Pyrex ones I bought at Smiths), put a decent size scoop of dough in it and bake it for 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees until it reaches you desired amount of doneness. Let cook for 5 minutes, scoop a good size scoop of ice cream on top and sail off to heaven!
Seriously, you have try it to experience the bliss!!

Now I don't have a picture yet (I just have to jump in and take that first bite) so...

tonight I will make one just so I can take a picture for you.

(Do you hear the self sacrificing that is going into this? )

Just for you:)

Oh, and the best part is you can freeze the rest of the dough for later use!

Enjoy!!

Daily To-Do List

One of my new year resolutions was to become more organized in the household chores area. I always wait until the last minute on things and it would drive me crazy! So I created a daily to-do list and I hope to stick to it as best as I can :) I printed it out and put it in a Dollar Tree frame so I can use a dry erase marker to fill in my weekly goals and add things that come up! Here is my version.
Here it is all ready to go!!

Tile Art

I was inspired way back in October by this post from While He Was Napping.. and decided to make my own. They were so easy that I just had to continue for every Holiday!! So.. this year the first Wednesday of every month with have the designs for 4 tiles for you to make for your home!!

Materials Needed:

4 - 4 inch tiles
Spray paint (if desired)
Mod podge
Tile images (link below)
Ribbon/ yard/ anything type of string you desire
Hot Glue gun
any embellishment you want

So take your tiles and spray paint them a different color if you wish. Mine were green and white so I just left them alone for January.

Apply mod podge to the tile- a little goes a long way!!

Apply printed image and smooth out.

When dried, turn over and hot glue ribbon/yarn/string to hang it up with.

These are good all year round so give a shot :)
