Well, I combined my friends cookie recipe and best bites ingenious Pizzookie Cookie idea and now a trip to heaven is available in 20 minutes!! Perfect for a late night snack (after the kids are in bed), a quick afternoon pick me up (when the kids are napping)- seeing a trend here?? :)
Chocolate Chip Cookies
(can be halved)
The melt in your mouth kind!
3 cups shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 cups brown sugar
3 tsp. vanilla
6 eggs
3 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking soda
7 1/2 cups flour
2 pkgs. chocolate chips
Cream shortening, sugars, vanilla and eggs. Add salt and baking soda. Gradually add flour. Beat until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
Now here is where you have a choice- you can drop these puppies onto a cookie sheet and bake for 8- 10 minutes at 375 degrees or....
You can get out some ramekins (I use 6 oz Pyrex ones I bought at Smiths), put a decent size scoop of dough in it and bake it for 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees until it reaches you desired amount of doneness. Let cook for 5 minutes, scoop a good size scoop of ice cream on top and sail off to heaven!
Seriously, you have try it to experience the bliss!!
Now I don't have a picture yet (I just have to jump in and take that first bite) so...
tonight I will make one just so I can take a picture for you.
(Do you hear the self sacrificing that is going into this? )
Oh, and the best part is you can freeze the rest of the dough for later use!
Enjoy!!
